Kicking off on Feb. 21 with the Mike Myers-led comedy Wayne's World, Arts Whistler is ramping up for nine nights of cinematic magic with The People’s Film 2024.

Launched in early 2023 after the closure of Village 8, The People’s Film has quickly become a community fan favourite. Last season's offerings included cult classics like Alien, Babe, Spaceballs, The Big Lebowski, and Home Alone.

For each edition of The People’s Film, Arts Whistler invites the community to vote on one of four movies related a central theme. Each short-listed flick is chosen to have a special place in pop culture and the collective consciousness.

Locally-owned NORA Snacks has also been named as the initiative's new sponsor, making their seaweed snacks available at all screenings: Feb. 21, April 17, May 22, June 19, July 17, Sept. 18, Oct. 30, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18. Themes and short-listed films remain under wraps until voting commences four weeks out from every showtime.
