$3 million campaign promotes Whistler in northeastern U.S. 

Expect more guests with east coast American accents this winter.

A new $3 million Intrawest marketing campaign, which will kick off next month, will focus efforts on the northeastern United States.

The Intrawest campaign will promote Whistler and other key Intrawest resorts from the peak fall booking season throughout the winter.

The campaign will be targeted in the Tri-State area, namely New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.

"This is a huge win for the resort of Whistler and for Whistler-Blackcomb," said Stuart Rempel, senior vice president, marketing and sales at Whistler-Blackcomb.

"Intrawest has taken a leadership role to support its resorts by actively working together as a whole to market our world-class resorts more competitively. Through this Intrawest marketing initiative, we expect to see an increase in visitors from the Tri-State area to Whistler this season."

The campaign will kick off with Intrawest’s Leisure & Travel Group CEO, Dan Jarvis, ringing the New York Stock Exchange Closing Bell on Nov. 10.
