Wow very good!! You know I'm happy to say that I am one of those who started a news page on Facebook in 2009! I had no training in becoming a 'real' journalist and to this day, still don't think I can ever be a 'real' journalist with a big media company, I'd rather be on my own!
I've sure had my bumps and bruises over the last several years in doing what I do today, run a 6,700 member news portal on Facebook and have a real job outside the news portion. I've become a big hit here in Fort St John, BC, and run PJXM News. I love it and have always wanted to do my own news in my own way and bring it to people on social media! Successful! I do have some help once in a while from my family and the toughest part out of all this was negative feedback, but you just gotta learn from the negativity and keep going if you want to succeed in a venture such as open media.
