Well this is interesting timing! I just signed up for an Earthwatch expedition for Sept 4-23. I get to wake up at 4:00 am and go hiking for 6-8 hours in an African conservation area taking inventory of the wildlife. I am of course with a ranger who is armed with a rifle for protection, but other than that it is just me and him. And yes this was sparked by a mid-life event but I've always preferred 'purpose' to 'play'. I'm wierd, I know. I'll let you know how it turns out!
Re: “Running back to my Saskatoons”
Well the timing of this article is perfect. The owners at one of the strata's I manage have just spent an incredible amount of dollars removing a dam that was blocking their culvert only to have the beavers build it again. They are very industrious.
