John´s family would like to thank all the fellow pilots, competition organisers, local neighbours and search and rescue personnel who participated in efforts to save John and then to locate and retrieve his body. He was a loving father, a devoted husband, a good friend and a man who loved to be in the skies on his paraglider. John cared deeply about his sport, and was committed to safety and passionate about flying. He will be sorely missed by us all.
