Fisher promoted to WRA marketing v-p Barrett Fisher is the Whistler Resort Association's new vice-president of marketing, effective immediately. In her new job, Fisher oversees all of the WRA's resort marketing decisions. The position is not a new one, although it has been some time since it was occupied. Fisher has been director of marketing since 1993. She joined the WRA in 1990 as director of advertising and promotion. Her promotion is a reflection of Fisher's skills and the work she's done, says acting WRA president Craig MacKenzie. "We have a great person here who knows all the players," MacKenzie says. The appointment comes while the WRA continues its search for a new president to replace David Thomson. Thomson resigned Dec. 31 to start his own company. The vice-president of marketing position was not advertised to the general public. Fisher was managing editor of the North Shore News before making the trip up the highway to join the WRA.
