In the Tyro (11 and 12 year olds) zone competition, Merritt Patterson earned a gold medal on the vault, a bronze on the floor and fourth on the bars. Emma Baker brought home a gold medal for her great floor routine, while Jenny Higgins tied for the bronze medal on the floor. Tegan Turcotte was fifth on bars, beam and floor, and Abigail Cameron earned a bronze on the bars and finished fourth of floor.

The Whistler Gymnastics Club also recently celebrated their annual Ribbon Day meet, where all of the competitors came away with something for routines on the vault, bars, beam, floor and trampoline. This recreational event gives the younger gymnasts a chance to perform in front of an audience of friendly faces and to get comfortable with a crowd before entering into competition with other clubs.
