The 11-race Triathlon B.C. and New Balance series wrapped up on Aug. 18, but did not release final standings until last week.

To qualify for the rankings, athletes had to appear in at least three of the races on the schedule. The top three results are then averaged out to determine where racers fit into their respective categories.

Of the dozens of Whistler, Pemberton and Squamish athletes to participate in the series, several qualified for the rankings: Tracey Pope of Pemberton; Paul Suter, Daniel Havens, Francois Fournier, Paul Nicholas, David Higgins, and Brandi Higgins of Whistler; Mae Palm, Tiffany Fenton, Marie-Claude Neron, Joanne Turnbull and Gord Addison.

Pope finished first overall in the women’s 30 to 34 category out of 170 participating racers. She attended six of the races.

Palm raced in five of the events in the 60 to 64 age group, and finished first overall.

Suter finished third in the 40 to 44 race out of 200 competitors, and made five appearances this season.

Havens was third in the 45 to 49 age group out of 160 racers, and made seven Tri-BC appearances.
