Whistler runner fourth in 10K nationals

Whistler’s Kristina Rody finished a close fourth in the women’s Canadian National Road Race Championships 10K in Fredericton, New Brunswick on Sunday, Sept. 28.

Whistler’s Kristina Rody finished a close fourth in the women’s Canadian National Road Race Championships 10K in Fredericton, New Brunswick on Sunday, Sept. 28.

Rody ran with the lead pack until the very end, when the top runners pulled away. Her time of 36 minutes, 10.7 seconds put her just 18 seconds back of Stephanie Hood of Elsah, Illinois, which makes Rody the third ranked Canadian in the country. In addition, she was third overall in the 20 to 29 age division.

The race went to Kristen Lewis-Woodruff of Montreal in 35:41.5, followed closely by Lisa Harvey of Calgary in 35:48.7.
