Goblin Express your ticket to Halloween

Tapley’s trick-or-treating gets underway at 5 p.m.

Wishing all a safe and scary Halloween, the Whistler and Valley Express (WAVE) is offering 25 cent rides all day Sunday, Oct. 31, 5 a.m. to 3 a.m., to anyone dressed in a full costume.

"Halloween has always been a big event in Whistler," said Emma DalSanto, the transportation demand management co-ordinator for the RMOW. "We want to encourage people to rely on the safe ride home with transit, and besides its fun."

WAVE will also be offering a special Goblin Express from Whistler Marketplace starting at 5 p.m., with free unlimited parking for parents of all trick-or-treaters heading down to Tapley’s for their annual Halloween bash. There will be no public parking on Lorimer Road due to the large number of participants – between 600 and 800 ghosts, goblins, witches and wizards are expected this year.

The Goblin Express is also free for all, and will run until after the fireworks display.

This is the 18 th year that the Tapley’s Farm subdivision has held its annual Halloween festivities, with more than 100 homes taking part. Many of those homes participate in the "best decorated house" contest, with the Just family defending their title from last year for The House of Golden Screams.

The trick-or-treating will begin around 5 p.m. and wrap up at approximately 7:30 p.m. with a fireworks display at Myrtle Philip School.
