Songs of war and of peace

A concert of remembrance

Children from all three of Whistler's community schools will raise their voices in song and in honour of our fallen heroes at a concert to be held at the Catholic church, Sunday, Nov. 7.

The concert of remembrance is free of charge and a time to join the Whistler Children’s Chorus in thoughts of past wars and dreams of future peace. Singers from Grades 1 through 12 will participate. The concert gets underway at 4:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church.

The Whistler Children's Chorus, a non-auditioned community choir, is entering its 13th year of performance and rehearsal. The chorus is comprised of three distinct groups – the junior, intermediate and honour choirs – and all participants are given an opportunity to experience the making of choral music with a focus on musicianship, personal growth and a chance to develop a life-long love of the art.

The Children’s Chorus traditionally performs at key community events including Canada Day, the Christmas Eve Carol Service and Remembrance Day.
