RCMP seeking armed robbery suspect

The Whistler RCMP are still investigating an armed robbery that took place on Friday, Aug. 19 at the Scotia Bank located on Franz’s Trail in Creekside.

According to the RCMP, a male entered the branch shortly before 11 a.m. and produced a handgun. He demanded money from the tellers, and they complied with his demand before the suspect fled with an unspecified amount of cash.

The Whistler-Pemberton RCMP are following several leads, and are hoping to release a description of the suspect and a security video from the bank to get the public’s assistance with the investigation.

There were no physical injuries as a result of the robbery, and no updates to the investigation as of press time.
