The Blind Swordsman Zatoichi next LUNA Japanese flick

What: WHISTLER CELEBRATES TURIN VANOC’s public info centre in Whistler will be celebrating the 2006 Olympics with daily activities. There will be a big screen video broadcast of the Games from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The VANOC street hockey challenge, pitting local teams against each other, will take place at the Info Centre 4 p.m. daily. Don’t miss the action!

What: LUNA – JAPANESE MOVIE The Blind Swordsman Zatoichi is the next LUNA Japanese flick, starring Takeshi "Beat" Kitano. Tickets are $4/$2. Doors open at the Rainbow at 7 p.m. The film begins 30 mins later.

What: WHISTLER COMMUNITY NOW The second part of a five-year series of films focusing on local community members. This year features youth and reveals their perceptions on being a local. Admission is free.

What: CLOSING CEREMONIES Juno award winning fiddler Shona Le Mottée and her band will perform in the village at 2 p.m. to celebrate the passing of the Olympic flag from Torino to Vancouver. If you can get up, join other hardcore Canadian fans at the big screen for the men’s ice hockey gold medal game. It begins at 5 a.m. The closing ceremonies will be broadcast from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
