Sweaty Cheddar back in Whistler

Whistler legends Sweaty Cheddar return Friday, Dec. 22 to Dusty’s at Creekside

“The base of the band is always changing,” band member Franco Diligenti said. “Our lineup is based on availability. It always keeps things fresh.”

Those relatively new to town may not know what to expect from the musician lineup, but audiences can always count on a good time.

All the old-time locals come out for this beloved band that only plays a few select shows a year. Always a sell out, fans come for the music and the talent behind it.

Canadian rockers She Stole My Beer are at the helm of the Sweaty Cheddar adventure. The Beer boys were looking for an excuse to expand their playing fixes with a more instrumental jam band format and Grateful Dead cover tunes. Sweaty Cheddar was born and as the name implies, the band works up as much as a sweat as the dancers. These cheese heads know how to throw a great party.

Some of the Sweaty Cheddar boys include percussion stormer Geoff Hicks, bassist Brad Ferguson, harmonica-wailer Bruce Knauer, guitarist Chad Chillibeck, keyboard stylist Jordan White and drummer Franco Diligenti.

“We are certainly a mixed bag of music,” Deligenti said. “We play some originals, a wide-variety of covers and Grateful Dead favourites.”

While the lineup is unpredictable, the crowd of She Stole My Beer fans who flock to both Sweaty Cheddar and Beer shows is always right on the mark.
