Mount Currie man killed in car accident

A 34-year-old Mount Currie man died following a car accident on Highway 99 north of Pemberton early Friday morning. Pemberton RCMP responded to a single vehicle roll over just past Airport Road at approximately 1:48 a.m. Jan. 12.

A 34-year-old Mount Currie man died following a car accident on Highway 99 north of Pemberton early Friday morning.

Pemberton RCMP responded to a single vehicle roll over just past Airport Road at approximately 1:48 a.m. Jan. 12. A vehicle with two occupants was traveling northbound on the highway when it failed to negotiate a curve and entered the west ditch.

Torry Rose was ejected from the car during the roll over. He was taken to the Pemberton Health Care Centre where efforts to revive him were not successful.

A second occupant, who was not wearing his seat belt, was transported to North Vancouver for further assessment with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Rose’s funeral will be held on Saturday January 20 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at the Richmond Rod & Gun Club, 7891 Cambie Road.
