The sixth Kokanee Valley Race Series event of the season took place Thursday, March 6 with a slalom on Whistler Mountain. Although it’s not everybody’s favourite format, and the poles can hurt if you hit them incorrectly, almost 50 racers turned out.

There are just two events remaining on the schedule, including today’s (March 13) giant slalom and the finals on March 20. This year the final event takes place on Blackcomb.

To register in advance and save $5, drop by any Whistler-Blackcomb Guest Relations desk before March 20. Day of race registration is $25 in the Rendezvous Lodge on Blackcomb until 9:45 a.m. Overall series titles are up for grabs, and the competition will be close in several categories.
