What: INSPIRED LEADERSHIP – WINNING AND ENGAGING THE NEW WORKFORCE The Whistler Chamber of Commerce presents a Spirit luncheon and breakfast featuring Dr. John Izzo, who will help attendants understand the changing expectations of the new workforce. He’s back by popular demand.

What: PEMBERTON ALL-CANDIDATES’ MEETING The Pemberton Chamber of Commerce hosts an all-candidates meeting for people seeking mayoral, council and school board seats in the upcoming election.

When: Thursday November 6, 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Where: Pemberton Community Centre

What: QUANTUM FITNESS A 45-minute mini-workshop hosted by Bob Switzer, author of “The Quantum Fitness.” He will explain how you can design a nutritional program based on your blood bype. You can also learn how to propertly metabolize your foods.

What: WERC JOB FAIR The Whistler Chamber of Commerce presents the anual WERC Job Fair. Jobs are first come, first served. Bring at least three copies of your resume. Be ready to have on-the-spot interviews with potential employers.

What: THE CRAZY CANUCKS: AN AUTHOR READING BY JANET LOVE MORRISON Author Janet Love Morrison launches her new book, “The Crazy Canucks: Canada’s Legendary Ski Team” with the family of Dave Murray and Steve Podborski in attendance. Event is co-sponsored by Harbour Publishing.

What: SNAKEBIT: CONFESSIONS OF A HERPETOLOGIST Local author Leslie Anthony traces his journey from a childhood fascination with snakes, through academic flirtation, to professional association with some of the world’s best herpetologists.

What: FOODSAFE LEVEL I COURSE This eight-hour course is mandatory for all food handlers, cooks, dishwashers and the like. It’ll focus on food contamination, hazardous foods and dishwashing.

What: REEL ALTERNATIVES SERIES The Whistler Film Festival presents Reel Alternatives, a monthly screening series in advance of the December festival. Coming up next: “Blindness,” a Canadian film about an epidemic of blindness that forces society into chaos. Admission: $12 at the door.

What: OLD FATHER WILLIAM’S WELL-ORDERED UNIVERSE Author Bill Richardson reads from his latest book “Old Father William’s Well-Ordered Universe: A Generally Reliable Compendium of Facts, Figures and Formulae, Specifically Intended for the Bathroom-bound (and Those Who Love Them).”
