Squamish teen Jodi Henrickson has been missing for ten days and friends and family are desperate to have her home again.

"We just want her home and safe," said a teary 16-year-old Chelsea Armstrong, a fellow Howe Sound Secondary School student and close friend of Henrickson's.

The 17-year-old had just finished Grade 11 at Howe Sound and, according to Armstrong, had left by herself for a party on Bowen Island on Friday June 19.

The teen, who has long brown hair and brown eyes, was last seen around dawn on Saturday June 20 on the island.

Squamish RCMP has video footage of Henrickson taking the ferry to the island on June 19 where she attended two house parties.

"We don't have her getting off (the island)," said Cpl. Dave Ritchie, of the Squamish RCMP detachment. "We know she didn't walk on."

Police are investigating the possibility that she got on the ferry in a car or that she left the island another way.

"There's a remote possibility that she did leave the island with means other than a ferry," said Ritchie.

Yet if she left Bowen Island, police say it is very out of character for the teen not to be in touch with her family.

Not only did she miss Father's Day, she has also been noticeably absent from any Facebook activity. Armstrong said her friend regularly updated her Facebook status.

"It's very out of character," agreed Ritchie.

Henrickson lives at her Brackendale home with her parents and two brothers, one older and one younger.

She was reported missing on Wednesday June 24, the day she was expected back from Bowen Island.

More than 630 people had joined a Facebook group Tuesday called 'Let's find Jodi Henrickson' and posters of the teen are up throughout the corridor.

The Sea to Sky Regional Police Services is continuing its investigation.

Bowen Island is six kilometres wide by 12 kms long with a permanent population of around 3,500.

Henrickson was last seen on the island wearing a black leather jacket, black long sleeve shirt and blue jeans.

Ritchie said lots of tips have been coming into police but if anyone knows anything about Henrickson's whereabouts they are asked to call the RCMP tip line at 604-957-0516 or anonymously at the Crimestoppers hotline, 1-800-222-TIPS.
