Whistler gymnasts in the medals

The Whistler Gymnastics Club attended its first meet of the season in Delta last weekend and posted some solid results despite the three-week Olympic break.

The Whistler Gymnastics Club attended its first meet of the season in Delta last weekend and posted some solid results despite the three-week Olympic break.

Keeley Wentzel qualified for the provincials by placing second all around in the Provincial Level 2 Tyro category. She earned a gold on the beam a bronze on the floor and was fourth and fifth on the bars and vault respectively.

Carly Mann and Kat Kranjc were sixth and seventh. Mann earned a fourth place ribbon on the beam, was fifth on the vault, sixth on the floor and tied for 10 th on the bars. Kranjc was third on vault, fifth on bars, seventh on floor and 10 th on beam.

In Provincial Level 2 Argo, Hannah Peatfield placed second all around with silver medals on beam and floor and fourth place finishes on vault and bars. One spot back was Niki Mariott who earned a bronze on the beam was fourth on bars, fifth on vault and sixth on floor. Cassia Jean and Rorry Ross-Kelly were seventh and 12 th in the category, with Jean placing fifth on beam and floor and Ross-Kelly just missing the podium for her fourth place floor routine.

Gigi Kranjc placed seventh in Provincial 1 Argo, also with a fourth place finish on the floor.

Caitlin MacConnachie was seventh in the Provincial 1 Tyro 1999 group with a fourth place finish on the beam.

Kalea Mckrank Ranger was sixth in Provincial 1 Tyro 1998 group, tying for third on the beam.
