B.C. Cup downhill finals wrap in Golden

The B.C. Cup downhill series wrapped up in Golden this past weekend, with a huge field of 220 riders taking part. The course was long and technical, with the fastest rides taking over four minutes from top to bottom.

From Whistler, Paul Stevens and Matt Parkinson were first and second in 19 to 29 Citizen Men with times of 4:04.08 and 4:04.34 respectively - 18 seconds faster than the next riders in the category.

Jack Iles won the Under 15 Men's category in 5:02.88, 10 seconds ahead of the next racer.

Florent Carreyron was 11 th in Senior Men 19 to 29 in 4:58.50, with Jesse Ballahausen of Pemberton placing two spots back in 5:05.87.

Jordan Gostelli and Kip Shortreed of Squamish were first and second in the Under 17 Men's race in 4:20.15 and 4:22.89, with Alexander Geddes placing 10 th in 4:46.63.

Cory LeClerc of Squamish was fourth in Master 30 to 39 Men in 4:40.65. Yanik Gaudette and Bruce Pomeroy, also from Squamish, were sixth and eighth in 4:46.54 and 4:53.18.

Jaime Hill of Pemberton won the Elite Women's race in 5:06.90, 21 seconds ahead of the next racer.

Kevin Landry of Squamish was fourth in Elite Men in 4:19.92.
