What: Giant garage sale - The Rotary Club of Whistler Millennium is hosting the second annual GIANT Garage Sale at the Creekside Underground Parking Lot. The date coincides with the Children's Art Festival, and will definitely generate great foot traffic. Book a table to sell your wares in this central location - all of profits are yours to keep. For $20, you get a spot in the parking lot, a table to put all of your goodies on, and the benefit of marketing and promotions. Contact Melissa at 604-902-9099. Proceeds from the table rentals and pancake sales help fund various community and international projects of the Rotary Club of Whistler Millennium.

When: Saturday, August 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What: Art in the park - This annual event features a variety of artist displays, a diverse lineup of live musical acts including local favourite Papa Josh, artist workshops for young and old, plus a barbecue by The Local and a very affordable beer garden.

When:            Saturday, August 13, from 2  p.m. - 8 p.m.

Where: Fauxberg Park, downtown Pemberton

 

What: Film movement series -
Join in on the third Monday of every month for award-winning independent and foreign films selected from the world's top film festivals. August's film is a comedy-drama from Israel, Germany, France and Romania.  Free to attend. Popcorn by donation.

When: Monday, August 15, at 7  p.m.

What: Lunafliks presents - this week's film is Leaves of Grass. A special treat for the August 17 screening is the free shuttle offered by Ziptrek Ecotours after the film, returning audience members to the gondolas. Leaves of Grass will be preceded by a sunset BBQ, a lakeside set by Miss Kosmik, the popular Jiffy Pop popcorn station, and PechaKucha mini presentations.

Audiences should bring a blanket or chair and $7 entry, wear warm layers, and make offerings to the sun gods, as Lunafliks will be cancelled in poor weather. www.lunafliks.com .

What: Adult pirate pak! - On August 17, guests both young and old can treat themselves to a childhood favourite as White Spot brings back the 'Adult Pirate Pak' for its fourth annual Pirate Pak Day. For each kids and adult Pirate Pak sold next Wednesday, White Spot will make a $2 donation to longtime B.C. charity Zajac Ranch for Children , an organization dedicated to giving children with life-threatening illnesses and chronic disabilities an unforgettable summer camp experience.
