Nancy Wilhelm-Morden to make election plan public on Monday

Former councillor, newspaper columnist currently finalizing plans for municipal election

Nancy Wilhelm-Morden is making it official... next week.

The former longtime councillor with the Resort Municipality of Whistler and newspaper columnist told Pique on Thursday that she would be making her election plans public on Monday afternoon.

"I'm having a meeting tonight," she said. "Depending on the outcome of the meeting tonight, we'll determine what we're doing on Monday, how we're going to structure Monday."

Wilhelm-Morden has, since the last municipal election, written "The Public Voice," a column in the Whistler Question that has been sharply critical of the direction of the Resort Municipality of Whistler.

In her last column, published in Thursday's Q uestion , she said that three issues have dominated her writing: in-camera meetings, specifically the tactic of excluding the public from municipal decision-making; the municipal budget, of which she said that municipal leaders do not appreciate that they are working with taxpayer money; and the asphalt plant, an issues that she said defined her column and the current council.
