Whistler RCMP is searching for a man in his 20s who stabbed another man after a fight broke out near popular nightclub Maxx Fish in the early morning hours of Aug 15.

The altercation continued as it moved down to Main St. where the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen. At that point the suspect fled the scene. Despite an immediate response to the scene police were unable to locate the suspect. The victim of the stabbing was taken to the Whistler Medical Clinic for treatment and released.

"It is believed that (the suspect) was with three other people and is described as being in his mid-20's, approximately 5'8"," said Sgt. Knapton adding that the suspect is described as being stocky with short blonde hair and tattoos on both shoulders. At the time of the offence he was shirtless and wearing blue jeans.
