Red Carpet: Screening of No Clue

Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Rainbow Theatre

Vancouver's Jason Priestley's bittersweet road movie starring Richard Dreyfuss and Tatiana Maslany has already gained a lot of attention in the run-up to the festival. Dreyfuss plays a terminally ill doctor and Maslany the hitchhiker who comes along for the ride.

Winter Kick Off: Outdoor Screening and Fireworks

Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at Skiers Plaza

A free outdoor screening under the stars featuring a collection of the Whistler Film Festival's short films based on true stories about Whistler and the region, plus some of the top shorts of the festival. There is an outdoor street hockey game and fireworks at 8 p.m.

Red Carpet: In Conversation with Jason Priestley

Saturday, Dec. 7. Red Carpet at 7:30 p.m., event at 8 p.m. at the Whistler Conference Centre

Jason Priestley gives an intimate view of his life and work with CBC interview and chat show host George Stroumboulopoulos. Priestley's first film as director, Cas & Dylan, opened the festival.

Elle Canada and the WFF shine the spotlight on three female actors, who will talk about their work in an intimate on-stage interview. Oscar winner Leo is this year's Luminary, while Liebert and Hampshire are Stars to Watch.

Celebrating Whistler's filmmaking heritage

Sunday, Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. at the Whistler Museum

Industry icons with behind-the-scene stories discuss three decades of Whistler's ski and snowboard filmmaking world. With Garry Pendygrasse, Christian Begin, Ace Mackay-Smith, Feet Banks and the team of Switchback Entertainment.

Red Carpet: Tribute to Richard Dreyfus

Friday, Dec. 1. Red Carpet at 7:15 p.m., event at 8 p.m. at the Whistler Conference Centre

Oscar winner and WFF Tribute honoured Richard Dreyfus is in conversation with Steven Gaydos, executive editor of Variety magazine. Dreyfus is in town as the star of Cas & Dylan, which opened the festival on Dec. 4.
