The two biggest ski resorts in Canada are combining forces this season - passholders at Whistler Blackcomb will be able to ski and ride at Sun Peaks for half price this season, and vice versa.

"We continually look for new and exciting ways to add value for our season passholders," said Stuart Rempel, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Whistler Blackcomb.

Sun Peaks, which is less than five hours away from Whistler in B.C.'s Interior, added more than 500 acres of alpine terrain this season, making it the second largest ski resort in Canada. Whistler Blackcomb is the largest in North America.

"We couldn't be more excited about the agreement," said Aidan Kelly, director of sales and marketing at Sun Peaks Resort. "With our new terrain development, we saw lots of opportunity to build our relationship with Whistler Blackcomb. We wanted to add value to our existing season passholders while opening us up to additional markets. Having an alliance with Whistler Blackcomb means combining two significant resorts. We hope Whistler Blackcomb passholders take advantage of this great opportunity to explore the Interior."

The 50 per cent discount will apply to the current window ticket rate at the time of purchase.
