Who's up for a pie and ale and a good auld-fashioned Scottish bloodbath?
Macbeth is the second play to be shown in Whistler as part of the Shakespeare's Globe On-Screen Production.
The film of the London theatre's production will take place at Millennium Place on Wednesday, Jan. 14. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The dark tale of a Scottish general who killed his way to the crown is a classic tragedy, with witches, ghosts and battles. And Lady Macbeth, of course.
"We wanted to do this for a really long time. We were looking at a variety of operas or Broadway shows or Shakespearean theatre put on by high-end professional companies to bring into Millennium Place because we have a great projector," says Doti Niedermayer, the executive director of the Whistler Arts Council.
"We had been talking about this for years and then we found Shakespeare's Globe and it was affordable and we were able to start with this."
Niedermayer adds that this show is open to families and certainly Macbeth does get studied in Sea to Sky English classes.
"The first play (A Midsummer Night's Dream, shown in October) was received really well. It was almost like being in the front row in a play. It is incredible production values, incredible acting. This is Shakespeare at its best," she says.
This is the second of three Globe productions being shown this season.
Tickets are $13 ($11 for WAC members) and can be purchased at the Millennium Place box office or online.

Children invited to try out for Pied Piper play
Youngsters from Spring Creek and Myrtle Philip Community Schools can audition for a week-long theatre project that will culminate in a production of the Pied Piper.
The Missoula Children's Theatre Company is coming to Whistler to train local pupils and hold a residency for the play. They are being brought to the resort by the Parent Advisory Councils (PAC) for both schools from Jan. 19 to 23.
"They've done a couple of Missoula projects here in the past. We want to give the kids an opportunity to see what it's like to act in a play done by the professionals of Missoula. They put it all together in the auditions, " says Tim Hucke, who is on the PAC for Myrtle Philip School.
Up to 50 children from Kindergarten to Grade 7 can take part. Auditions will take place at Myrtle Philip at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19. There is a fee for the week of $60. Rehearsals will take place every night that week from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The play will be performed twice at Millennium Place on Friday, Jan. 23, at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and $15. Tickets can be purchased at Millennium Place or online at the Whistler Arts Council website.
