HEAVY LOAD A dump truck sits on its side on Spring Creek Drive in Whistler on Thursday, July 9.

One man was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a single-vehicle rollover on Spring Creek Drive in Whistler on Thursday morning.

Cpl. Diane Blain of the Whistler RCMP said the detachment got a call about the overturned dump truck around 11:30 a.m.

When police attended they found the driver — a 26-year-old man from Port Coquitlam — still on the scene.

"He seemed to have a head injury, he was bleeding a little bit," Blain said. "Emergency services took him away and brought him to the Whistler clinic for treatment of his minor injury."

No one else was injured in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid.

"We don't believe alcohol or drugs were a factor," Blain said.

"Speed might have been a factor, just taking the turn a little bit too quickly."
