Another round of public consultations is underway for the proposed Woodfibre LNG project in Squamish — this time regarding greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the project.
The public is invited to comment on an analysis of the anticipated GHG emissions conducted by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).
The analysis outlines estimates of upstream GHG emissions resulting from the extraction of the project's natural gas supply and its transportation to the proposed facility.
In the analysis, ECCC projects the upstream GHG emissions to be 700 to 800 kilotonnes/year of CO2e, or about 17.5 to 22 Mt of GHG over the 25-year lifetime of the project.

Comments received will help inform the Minister of Environment and Climate Change's determination as to whether the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
