Action film lineup returns to WSSF 

If witnessing death-defying snowboard tricks and ski turns all day on the hill isn’t enough to quench your crazy-antic cravings during the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival, then perhaps a batch of action movies on the side will help.

Whistler will unveil the world premiere of the mountain bike movie Kranked 5 during WSSF, plus play host to two other film festivals from and Sawtooth Films. Here’s the screening schedule to mark in your diaries, which by now must be filling up mighty fast with WSSF events:

Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m.

Merlin’s Snow Film Fiesta: An entire evening dedicated to original snow sports adventure from some of the best photographers and filmmakers in North America. The second annual Snow Film Fiesta will feature photography and cinematography from local rock stars like Ryan Creary, Eric Crosland and Paul Cotton of 2 Track Productions. Also on the Biglines bill will be the Climb Sepu movie by Marmot/Gore-Tex, along with films from Big Mountain Canada Productions, Thunderbolt Productions, NS Media, The Ride Guide, Storm Show Studios, Loose Cannon Productions, Freeskier Productions, and many more. Kranked 5 World Premiere: Harnessing the most awesome new talent the mountain bike world has ever seen, Kranked 5 features RedBull Rampage winners Tyler Klassen and Darren Berrecloth, style master Thomas Vanderham, infamous trails master Ryan Leech, Aussie Speed Demon Johnny Waddell, the Superhero’s Aaron Peters, Gareth Dyer, Brian O, Randy Spangler, and Andrew Shandro. Sawtooth Adrenaline Film Festival: An eye-opening collection of adventure and adrenaline films featuring kayaking, mountain biking, base jumping, kite boarding, skiing and unicycling. Sawtooth Films has been entertaining audiences for four years with its adrenaline-charged film tours throughout the United States, New Zealand, South Africa and Canada.
