The Whistler art-walking tour is a great way to experience local galleries and public art pieces. Self-guided brochures are available at Millennium Place or online at www.whistlerartscouncil.com.
Also, many local cafes, restaurants, bars and retail outlets offer up their walls as display spaces for visual artists. Keep your eyes open because you never know where you might spy that essential piece.
The local farmers markets are also an important part of the summer art scene with a wide variety of photographers, clothing designers, artists and jewelry artisans displaying. Check out the Whistler Farmers Market every Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Upper Village and the new Franzs Trail Outdoor Market in Creekside every Saturday from 11-4 p.m.
