Foul play suspected in woman's death Remains found by Lillooet Lake The remains of a woman found at the 33 km mark of Lillooet Lake, March 19, have RCMP in Pemberton suspecting foul play was involved in her death. Police report that an autopsy the next day in Vancouver revealed the body was a woman aged 20-24 and 5'2" to 5'4" tall. She was found wearing a necklace featuring a pendant of two skulls circled by a heart. The body also had some cosmetic jewellery on her wrist. Police at this stage are releasing few other details. Scene investigation and the autopsy points to foul play, says an RCMP press release. "Due to decomposition (the corpse) is believed to have been there for some time." Latest information from the RCMP does not say what evidence was seen at the site; what state the body was in (ie. in a grave, in one place, or scattered); if there were other identifying objects or clothing on the corpse or nearby; or if the body brings anyone immediately to mind who has disappeared in the past few years. Police are also not saying at this time what other details the autopsy revealed, such as if the woman was Caucasian, aboriginal, oriental or any other race; the exact nature of her injuries leading to her death; or details such as hair colour, dental features, or physical characteristics such as previously broken bones. "We don't want to divulge too much information at this point in the investigation," says RCMP Sgt. Bruce Waite at the Pemberton detachment. Whistler's Suzanne Tam, 33, disappeared July 13, 1996. She was a psychologist for the school district. Police searched for more than two weeks, but found only Tam's vehicle at the Rick's Roost mountain bike trailhead. Some of her clothing was found on the railroad near Rick's Roost and on Nicklaus North golf course.
