Organizers of the annual Canada Day Parade are looking for local musicians to get involved in this year’s event. The parade is just one of the events planned to celebrate Canada’s 131st birthday on Wednesday, July 1. There will be festivities at the freestyle training centre on Blackcomb, street performers throughout the village , twilight sightseeing on Blackcomb between 5 and 8 p.m. and possibly a fireworks display. The Reynolds High School Marching Band, which has been part of the parade for several years, is unable to attend this year. Instead, organizers are hoping to attract as many local musicians as possible. Any musicians interested in participating should contact the Whistler Chamber of Commerce.
