Police News: Pair of Whistler women busted for cocaine possession

A Whistler woman is facing drunk driving charges after reportedly causing a head-on collision near Nesters last Wednedsay, Nov. 12.

The woman's Mazda was travelling northbound on Highway 99 around 4 p.m. when she attempted to turn left and struck an oncoming vehicle, said Whistler RCMP's Cpl. Diane Blain.

A Breathalyzer test was administered, which the driver failed. No major injuries were reported, police said.

Two local women in their 20s are facing drug possession charges after an RCMP member on foot patrol early Sunday, Nov. 16 in the village observed the pair "actively using cocaine," said Blain.

The women were in front of a bar on the Village Stroll at the time, and were discovered with about half a gram of suspected cocaine each, police said.
