Ear Candy

Trish Jamieson – Pemberton-based solo acoustic singer/songwriter and snowmobile tour goddess

My current top five favourite songs, in no particular order:

1. Ruthie Foster: Drowning Child

"A powerful blues tune from a phenomenal vocalist and songwriter."

2. Pantheon Rococo: La Dosis Perfecta

"A great Mexican ska single from an album I picked up last fall while down there. Title means ‘the perfect dose’. It was popular with the locals for good reason."

3. Miguel Migs: In the House — West Coast Sessions

"I have to go with this album as a whole, since all the soulful house tracks blend together and can't be separated. Awesome music for anything from dancing to cleaning house."

4. Gretchen Wilson: Redneck Woman

"My latest obsession is country music and this song kicks ass. A rough-around-the-edges woman's anthem."

5. Sweatshop Union: US

"Homegrown hip-hop with a message. I love songs that diss Bush."

Ear Candy is a new weekly column offering a glimpse into the local musical mindset.
