Whistler’s Rob Eberhard finished second in the A draw of the seventh annual Sea to Sky Open Squash Tournament last weekend in Squamish.

Fourteen men entered the top flight of the tournament in this the second year an A draw has been featured. The viewing gallery was packed during the A draw matches.

The final A match was a copy of last year's final. Eberhard and Mark Koroll played a five-game final that thrilled the crowd. Both players plan to return next year and Eberhard says he plans to turn the tide in 2002.

The Women's C event, the Men's Novice, and the Men's D were all round robin events and prizes were given to the top three in each category. The Men's A, B, and C events were much larger draws. Prizes were given to the winner, the runner up, and the consolation round winner.

A total of 52 people participated in the tournament, some coming from as far away as Prince Rupert and Vernon.

The title sponsors of the event were the Howe Sound Inn and Brewing Company, The Squamish Valley Golf and Country Club, Head, and the Granville Island Brewing Company
