A Langley man is dead after being struck by a tree near Anderson Lake on Friday, May 16.

Police hiked to the scene on the east shore of the lake after receiving a report of a sudden death.

Both Pemberton Search and Rescue and BC Ambulance officials attended, where they discovered the 28-year-old man had died as a result of head trauma suffered in his efforts to fell a tree.

Knife pulled in Pemberton

A 30-year-old Vancouver man was arrested after he reportedly pulled out a hunting knife at a hotel in Pemberton.

RCMP received the call just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 about a man who had pulled a large knife on a hotel employee in the fitness area of the hotel. Police said the man was intoxicated, and that RCMP are recommending weapon possession charges.

Whistler man arrested for assault, drugs after nightclub incident

A Whistler man was arrested early Friday, May 16 after allegedly assaulting a village nightclub patron.

Police attended the scene and spoke with a club employee who reportedly witnessed the incident, claiming the suspect had struck another male without provocation. The alleged victim had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

After being arrested, police discovered the 22-year-old man with four flaps of suspected cocaine and a gram of marijuana. He was detained in cells overnight and released in the morning with a promise to appear in court.
