founders pass sales

The Whistler/Blackcomb Foundation has sold 40 of the 50 exclusive Founder’s Passes it offered for sale this year and is no longer accepting pass applications.

The Whistler/Blackcomb Foundation has sold 40 of the 50 exclusive Founder’s Passes it offered for sale this year and is no longer accepting pass applications. Brita McLaughlin, executive director of the Whistler/Blackcomb Foundation, says they are not continuing to actively market the $5,000 transferable passes, but are following up on a few leads to potential buyers and could still surpass the current total of 40 sales. "We have leads on about 20 people who want to buy a pass," said McLaughlin. "We sold two over the weekend and one on the first day that sales opened to the Vancouver market." The 40 confirmed sales will add $200,000 to the foundation’s total fund-raising efforts this year. The foundation’s other major fund-raising events are the annual BC Tel Mobility Winter Classic in February and the Husky Oil Mixed Golf Classic in September. The Whistler/Blackcomb Foundation supports registered charities in the Sea to Sky Corridor. McLaughlin says they are not taking any new calls, but will continue to make follow up calls to those people who have shown an interest in purchasing a pass. She says that once these potential sales are closed, they will be finished with this year’s Founder’s Pass campaign.
