With the first phase of the Whistler Four Seasons Resort set to open in late May, the hotel is hosting its initial career fair this Wednesday and Thursday, March 24 to 25 at the Telus Conference Centre at Whistler.

Some 200 people will be hired in several departments, joining managers who have already been hired or have transferred to the resort from other Four Seasons locations. Staff are coming from resorts in 13 countries, including Egypt, China, Singapore and Australia.

"We are looking for people to fill nearly every position," said Reena Verma, director of human resources. "From stewards to cooks, from housekeepers to spa attendants."

According to Four Seasons, the company is consistently ranked in Fortune Magazine’s Top 100 Companies to Work For, and is the only Canadian company to hold that distinction. Managers stay an average of 14 to 15 years with the company, which is high for the hotel industry.

The career fair will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

When completed the Four Seasons will offer 242 rooms, a full-service spa, shops, restaurants and other amenities.
