The course was a point-to-point, mostly flat 12km ski through the Pemberton Meadows with a snowmobile-groomed skate track and a pair of classic tracks.

Lost Lake Classic returns
The second annual Lost Lake Classic cross-country race hosted by the Whistler Nordics will return on Sunday, Feb. 17 with a couple of course options — a 7.5km course and a 15km race. Soft conditions last year made it a grueling but fun race, with a low entry fee of $10. If you don't have classic skis, rentals are available at Cross Country Connection. For more, visit www.whistlernordics.com. Registration is available at the start, as well as trail passes. The event gets underway at 11:00 a.m.
Toonie Race series continues with Valentine's Day ski
Tonight (Thursday, Feb. 14) the Alpine Café is hosting a Whistler Nordics Toonie Race in Lost Lake Park, using a sprint format this time around.
Registration is from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at Lost Lake Passive Haus, followed by the race starts.
The fee is $2 for Whistler Nordics members and one time "Try a Toonie" entries are $5. Memberships will be available at sign-in as well.
As always, you need a valid trail pass to race and a head lamp in case the course goes off the lighted trails.
