Hockey Card:

Occupations? Group sales account executive, Whistler Blackcomb

Furthest place you travelled and why. Croatia and Bosnia, before the fall of Yugoslavia. It was a family vacation.

Describe yourself using five words or less. Caring, empathetic, strong, excellent listener.

What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you? I have never won anything on a Tim Horton's Roll-Up The Rim (not even a donut).

Profile Questions:

What do you see as the top election issues? Whistler taxpayers want an open and accessible government. We have so many ways of collecting input and feedback these days, yet people feel that no one is listening. We have all had to cut things from our own spending, yet we don't feel that the current spending model at the "Hall" reflects the same fiscal restraint. Further, Whistler needs a council that is representative of the people that live here. I have lived here my entire adult, decision-making life. I do not own a home. My husband and I want to raise our family here. We need affordable options to be able to do so. The issues facing Whistler now are different than in past elections, but the undercurrent is the same: how does Whistler move forward and weather the storm of the global economy, that drives revenue here, while maintaining a standard of living worth staying here for?

How would you address the budget shortfall? We need to look at cuts to services that are not working, and look for different ways to replenish capital reserves. We need to find ways to leverage public assets to generate revenue without tax increases.

What do you think is the RMOW's role in boosting tourism? The RMOW's role is to support both public and private enterprises in their endeavours. TW drives tourism and room nights, and WB drives skier visits. The RMOW should foster these partnerships in harmony with local business.

What would you do to enhance the environment for business? By minimizing the red tape for the local business sector, entrepreneurs can focus on the important challenges of opening and growing their operations.

Give an example of a difficult situation you have overcome.

In my first month living here, I knew no one. On my third day on the mountain, I broke my leg in two places. ForĀ four months, I hobbled around on crutches, from the bus, to work, and to physio, with no family to help me. In a short time, I had met wonderful people here that made it easier, and made this place home.

Where can people go to get your election platform?
