KVRS continues to give

For the second event in a row, the draw prize winner of the Atomic Supercross skis at the Kokanee Valley Race Series put the skis up for auction, with the proceeds going towards the newly created Dave Sheets Foundation for Critical Care Equipment.

For the second event in a row, the draw prize winner of the Atomic Supercross skis at the Kokanee Valley Race Series put the skis up for auction, with the proceeds going towards the newly created Dave Sheets Foundation for Critical Care Equipment.

Rob Boyd started the trend on Feb. 13, the day after Dave Sheets passed away following an on-mountain collision with another skier. Paddy Kaye did the same following the recent Feb. 28, races, and together the auctions have raised close to $3,500 for the foundation.

The race itself was a long giant slalom on Gandy Dancer that attracted more than 90 competitors in all age groups. With only two events left on the calendar, both in March, the turnout just keeps getting better and better.

The next KVRS events is a GS on Blackcomb on March 13 on Lower Cruiser, weather and conditions permitting. Same day registration and bib pickup will be at the top of the course.

Visit www.whistler-blackcomb.com for confirmation of the place and time.
