The Kokanee Valley Race Series let it all hang out last Thursday (Jan. 19) for the first super giant slalom speed event of the season.

The run was Gandy Dancer, and included a vertical drop of 390 metres (1,200 feet) on some steep terrain. Conditions were perfect with hard snow, cooler temperatures and sunshine throughout the day.

The winner of the draw prize for the Atomic skis was Wayne Flann.

The next KVRS event (after today’s GS on Whistler) is a dual slalom event on Blackcomb on Feb. 9.

You can register in advance at any Whistler-Blackcomb Guest Relations or Ski School Sales location, or on the day of the race at the Rendezvous until 9:45 a.m. The cost is $20, and all participants are eligible to win draw prizes, including a pair of Atomic skis.
