Kyber house wins industry award The "Talisman at Taluswood," designed and built by Kyber Developments Ltd. of Whistler, has won the Canadian Home Builders' Association's National SAM Award for best single detached home over 2,200 square feet. The award was announced at the CHBA awards competition Feb. 14 in Ottawa. The house, which features custom-cut exposed rafters, vaulted ceilings and natural stone accents, is described as "an adaptation of the surrounding landscape creating a relaxed and casual sanctuary." Michael Gottschalk, Director of Kyber, said "We are honoured to receive this award. It is a reflection of the quality of work our team of conscientious trades-people provide." "Winning a National SAM award is truly something to be proud of," said CHBA President Garnet Kindervater. "It’s a mark of distinction and a tremendous achievement to be recognized by your peers. The quality of entries from across Canada was exceedingly high."
