Landmark restaurant closes

Steak house near BC Place in receivership

The Vancouver steakhouse founded and once partly owned by Blair Wilson, the Member of Parliament for West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky, closed its doors last week and has been placed in receivership.

Although it’s a family business, Wilson sold his interest in Wilson’s Steakhouse last year when he was elected to Parliament. Wilson issued a statement of support for the decision to close the restaurant to pay creditors, and thanked all employees, suppliers and customers for their support over the years.

The steakhouse is something of a landmark for sports fans and athletes in Vancouver, located near B.C. Place and GM Place.

Under receivership, an agent for the steakhouse’s creditors will take control of the property and sell the fixtures and assets to recover debt.

In addition to being a part-owner of the restaurant, Wilson is a chartered accountant.
