Snowboard photographer Embry Rucker, surf photographer Jason Childs and snowboard photographer Trevor Graves will be going head to head at this year’s Panasonic Pro Photographer Showdown, one of the most anticipated events at April’s Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival.

The three confirmed competitors are true pros. Los Angeles-based Rucker is currently a senior photographer and photo editor at TransWorld Snowboarding magazine, whose work has appeared in Outside, Maxim, Sports Illustrated, Snowboarder, Frequency, and The LA Times.

Bali-based Childs is a former news photographer for Melbourne, Australia’s The Age and is currently a senior photographer at Surfer Magazine.

Portland, Ore.-based Graves is a long-time snowboard photographer whose action and lifestyle images have been mainstays of major industry publications and advertising campaigns.

Showdown competitors each create a nine-minute slideshow to be presented for judging at the Telus Conference Centre on April 22. Approximately 1,800 spectators are anticipated at the event.

A fourth wildcard spot goes to the winner of the Panasonic Pro Photographer Search, which showcases the works of six finalists in a similar format on April 20. The Search is open to professional and amateur photographers and is accepting entries until 5 p.m. on Feb. 20.
