There are special Easter services at Whistler churches this weekend.
The heart of the Christian story will be portrayed at The Whistler Village Church, on the death of resurrection of Jesus.
A dark and mournful service will take place on Friday, April 9 at 7 p.m. in the theatre of Maurice Young Millennium Place. On Easter morning, Sunday April 11, there will be two services. A Sunrise Service will take place at the Roundhouse on Whistler Mountain at 8 a.m.; upload the gondola at 7:30 a.m. This will be followed by a 10 a.m. service at MY Place.
Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church at 6299 Lorimer Road also has a different Easter and Holy Week schedule.
On Good Friday the Stations of the Cross will take place at 3 p.m. A Celebration of the Lord’s Passion will take place at 5 p.m. that same day.
On Holy Saturday there will be a Solemn Easter Vigil at 8 p.m.
Sunday April 11 th masses will take place at 9 and 11 a.m.
The Whistler Community Church will have a 10 a.m. service on Good Friday at the Myrtle Philip Community Centre.
The Easter service will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday April 11.
