Local runners take on Victoria Marathon 

 

Almost 14,000 runners took part in the annual Victoria Marathon on Sunday, with perfect fall running conditions aside from a little bit of a headwind off the water.

The top Whistler athlete, placing 52nd in Female 25 to 29, was Laura Pulleyblank in 3:50:24, averaging a kilometre every 5:25 of the 42.2 km distance.

William Huckvale was 59th in Male 25 to 29 in 3:50:23.

Sarah Gardner was 88th in Female 25 to 29 in 4:11:57.

From Pemberton, Tyler Petrusic finished the race 55th in the Male 30 to 34 category in 3:39:08.

Karen Newby led the Squamish runners, playing 39th in Female 30 to 34 in 3:45:32.

Deborah Finck was 17th in Female 50 to 54 in 3:53:52.

Laura Miller was 25th in Female 50 to 54 in 3:58:29.

Margaret Paxton was 39th in Female 45 to 49 in 3:57:00.

Gerald Wolfe was 154th in Male 35 to 39 in 4:13:49.

Louise Griffioen was 81st in Female 50 to 54 in 4:37:35.

Over 2,600 runners took part in the marathon component, with another 5,717 running the 21.1 km half-marathon.

Lisa Smart was the fastest Whistler runner in the half, placing 175th overall and fifth in the Female 35 to 39 race in 1:30:45.

Ondrea Ross was 11th in Female 35 to 39 in 1:35:47.

Christina McKean was 17th in Female 25 to 29 in 1:36:38.

Dale Marcoux was 55th in Male 35 to 39 in 1:39:55.

Megan Wastle was 35th in Female 35 to 39 in 1:43:03.

Remo Henzi was 72nd in Male 45 to 49 in 1:42:14.

Sam Brovender was 81st in Male 35 to 39 in 1:47:03.

Chris Gamel was 58th in Male 55 to 59 in 1:51:11.

Alan Price was 120th in Male 25 to 29 in 1:52:21.

Brian Barnett was 122nd in Male 45 to 49 in 1:53:05.

Kim Huggard was 179th in Female 35 to 39 in 1:59:30.

Jane Nielsen was 169th in Female 40 to 44 in 2:04:52.

Wendy Wheeler as 175th in Female 40 to 44 in 2:03:34.

Wanda Klovance was 179th in Female 40 to 44 in 2:03:45.

Elizabeth Rogerson was 161st in Female 45 to 49 in 2:08:26.

Kari Gaudet was 355th in Female 30 to 34 in 2:14:28.

Rosalie Dowse was 328th in Female 40 to 44 in 2:23:51.

Sarah Brock was 465th in Female 30 to 34 in 2:32:19.

Shannon Ellis was the top Pemberton racer in 1:51:34, 66th in the Female 35 to 39 race.

Tanya Richman, 62nd in Female 40 to 44, was one second back in 1:51:35.

Vanessa Liston was 121st in Female 30 to 34 in 1:56:34.

Tricia Field was 363rd in Female 45 to 49 in 2:38:30.

Heather Petrusic was 454th in Female 25 to 29 in 2:42:24.

The top Squamish runner was David Burke, seventh in the Male 50 to 54 race in 1:30:20.

Stephanie Pawluk was first overall in Female Under 19 in 1:38:13.

Shannon Turner was 34th in Female 35 to 39 in 1:43:11.

Jeff Turner was 62nd in Male 35 to 39 in 1:43:47.

Kristy Moller was 59th in Female 30 to 34 in 1:49:22.

Alison Abell was 76th in Female 35 to 39 in 1:53:04.

Darin Labrenz was 133rd in Male 45 to 49 in 1:53:38.

Charlene Pawluk was 77th in Female 40 to 44 in 1:55:24.

Rosanne Daguerre was 104th in Female 40 to 44 in 1:58:16.

Rhonda Wilson was 140th in Female 40 to 44 in 2:03:26.

Marcia Collier was 154th in Female 45 to 49 in 2:09:44.

James Coyne was 184th in Male 35 to 39 in 2:07:17.

Gina Parry was 293rd in Female 35 to 39 in 2:12:38.

Susan Dirks was 286th in Female 50 to 54 in 2:44:16.

Kylah Sapr was 467th Female 25 to 29 in 2:48:40.

Kristy Hughes was 527th in Female 30 to 34 in 3:06:21.

There was also an 8 km category.

Joe Davies of Pemberton was 16th in the Male 12 and Under category in 45:45.

Cody Wolfe of Squamish was third in Male 12 and Under in 36:01.

Noel Dodd was 17th in Male 30 to 34 in 36:02.

Anne Bracey was seventh in Female 55 to 59 in 41:17.

Brenda Davison was 24th in Female 50 to 54 in 44:10.

Heather Campbell was 61st in Female 35 to 39 in 48:45.

Brian Hughes was 53rd in Male 55 to 59 in 52:06.

Ashley Hostasek was 143rd in Female 25 to 29 in 54:12.
