Locals flock to Vancouver International

There was a record turnout for the 34th annual Adidas Vancouver International Marathon on Sunday, with more than 4,012 people finishing the full 42.2 kilometres and 6,590 completing the half marathon.

Among local runners in the full marathon, Iron Man trainee Greg McDonnell finished 367 th overall, and 70 th in the menÕs 30 to 34 age group with a time of three hours, 25 minutes and 27 seconds.

Shizuo Kashino was 510 th , 74 th in the menÕs 40 to 44 group, in 3:32:21.

Robert Tan was 856 th , and 80 th in the 45 to 49 category in 3:44:10.

Claudie Simard was 1400 th , and 74 th in the womenÕs 25 to 29 group in 3:57:51.

Mae Palm from Garibaldi Highlands won the womenÕs 65 to 69 race in a rime of 4:03:15.

In the half marathon, Jennifer Walker was WhistlerÕs top runner, finishing 109 th overall, 14 th out of over 4,000 women, and first out of 756 runners in the womenÕs 30 to 34 age group with a time of 1:30:27.

Richard Eglington was 146 th overall and 14 th in the menÕs 20 to 24 category in 1:32:16.

Marie-Anne Prevost was just behind Eglinton, finishing 148 th overall 18 th among all women, and fifth in the 30 to 34 age group with her time of 1:32:32.

Bob Deeks was 160 th , and 24 th out of 364 runners in the menÕs 40 to 44 group, posting a time of 1:33:08.

Joseph Hertz was 237 th and 55 th in the 30 to 34 group with a time of 1:35:36.

Greg Sandkuhl placed first out of 66 athletes in the menÕs 60 to 64 age group with a time of 1:36:24.

Ondrea Zugloff was 300 th overall and 14 th out of 756 runners in the womenÕs 30 to 34 race.

Kier Nicholson was 510 th and 24 th out of 702 runners in the womenÕs 25 to 29 category.

Christine Cogger was 655 th and 41 st overall in the 30 to 34 race in 1:44:13.

Jason Lescak was 880 th and 93 rd in the menÕs 25 to 29 race in 1:47:26.

Heather Abernathy was 1,194 th and 88 th in the womenÕs 30 to 34 race in 1:50:49.

Barry Clemiss finished in 1:53:45, 116 th in the menÕs 45 to 49 group.

Sarah OÕBrien finished 139 th in the womenÕs 30 to 34 race in 1:54:53.

Greg Newton was 181 st in the menÕs 40 to 44 race in 1:55:22.

Micah Koroll was 148 th in the menÕs 25 to 29 race in 1:56:21.

Amy Walker was 159 th in the womenÕs 25-29 category in 1:56:54.

Dave Clark was 232 nd in the menÕs 35 to 39 category in 1:59:02.

Diane Mombourquette was 170 th out of 689 in the womenÕs 35 to 39 age category in 2:00:07.

Christa Vandeberg was 251 st in the womenÕs 25 to 29 race in 2:03:11.

Sarrah Forrest was 124 th out of 308 in the womenÕs 20 to 24 race in 2:03:59.

Lisa Baadsvik was 223 rd in the womenÕs 35 to 39 category in 2:04:18.

Diane Keeley was 281 st in the womenÕs 25 to 29 group in 2:05:02.

Tara Malcolm was 138 th in the 20 to 24 race in 2:06:01.

Catherine Haufschild was 326 th in the 25 to 29 group in 2:06:56.

Emma Forrest was 186 th in the 20 to 24 race in 2:12:49.

Art Davis was 351 st in the menÕs 35 to 39 group in 2:17:22.

James Barnum finished 20 th in the menÕs 65 to 69 age category in 2:31:59.

Catherine Barnum finished 18 th in the womenÕs 65 to 69 group in 3:30:49.
