Dozens race in Victoria marathon, half-marathon and 8K

More than two dozen local runners from Whistler and Pemberton were among the more than 8,000 athletes that took part in the 26 th annual Royal Victoria Marathon and Half Marathon on Oct. 9.

Running the full marathon, 42.2 kilometres or 26.1 miles, Jamie McSkimming finished fourth out of 211 runners and 36 th overall in the men’s 45 to 49 age category with a time of two hours, 55 minutes and 15 seconds.

Scott Taber also broke the three hour mark, crossing the line in 2:59:17 in 54 th overall. He was 18 th out of 247 in the men’s 40 to 44 age group.

John Hall was 276 th overall and 72 nd in the same group with a time of 3:29:29.

Robert Tan was 315 th and 36 th in the 45 to 49 group in 3:32:26.

Nils Robinson finished in 3:37:12, 383 rd overall and 39 th out of 135 in the men’s 30 to 34 category.

Dave Mclorie was 39 th , crossing the line in 3:38:05 to rank 25 th out of 80 in the 25 to 29 group.

Georgina Titus broke the four hour mark, finishing 785 th overall and 52 nd out of 174 in the women’s 35 to 39 race with a time of 3:56:18.

Rebecca Lindley and Cathy Owen crossed the line in 4:02:59 and 4:05:50 in the women’s 30 to 34 race respectively, finishing 36 th and 37 th out of 131 runners in their category.

Connie Sobchak was in at 4:29:22, 91 st in the women’s 45 to 49 race.

Tyson Stolberg was in at 4:42:44, 70 th in the men’s 25 to 29 group.

In the half marathon, Jen Segger led the way for locals with a time of 1:29:57, 106 th overall (out of 3,700 runners) and second in the women’s 20 to 24 race.

Jennifer Walker and Lisa Kallio weren’t far behind, finishing in 1:31:23 and 1:32:28 respectively, 129 th and 153 rd overall, and seventh and eighth in the 30 to 34 category.

Michel Berthonel was 33 rd in the men’s 30 to 34 group and 247 th overall in 1:33:54.

In the same group Rory Tucker was in at 1:36:52, 256 th overall and 35 th out of 177 runners.

John Quinlan was 37 th out of 121 in the men’s 25 to 29 race, finishing 393 rd overall in 1:41:21.

Bradley Cumming was 429 th overall and 52 nd in the men’s 30 to 34 race with a time of 1:41:58.

Orsa Horvath was 17 th in the men’s 25 to 29 race in 1:42:20, 492 nd overall.

Todd Pretty was 26 th in the men’s 20 to 24 group with a time of 1:44:49.

Megan Wastle finished in 1:46:30, 46 th in the 30 to 34 group.

Shelley Webster was 59 th out of 392 in the women’s 35 to 39 category with a time of 1:50:48.

Stephanie Coughlin was 63 rd in the same category with a time of 1:51:08.

Sarah O’Brien was 75 th in the 30 to 34 race in 1:52:42.

Mark Leverton was 89 th in the men’s 45 to 49 group with a time of 1:53:00.

Heather Clifford was 89 th out of 403 runners in the women’s 40 to 44 race in 1:54:21.

Jill Jacques was 24 th out of 220 in the women’s 50 to 54 race in 1:55:23.

Tracey Cruz was 97 th in the 30 to 34 race in 1:55:48.

Tory Younger was 81 st out of 293 in the 25 to 29 race with a time of 1:55:12.

Heather Abemethy was 119 th in the 30 to 34 group in 1:56:59.

Mia Guillo was 120 th in the 25 to 29 group in 2:01:41.

Michelle De Melo was 234 th in the 25 to 29 race in 2:22:09.

Betty Korchmalnicki was 318 th in the 330 to 34 race in 2:23:14.

Laura Burt was 254 th in the 25 to 29 race in 2:25:06.

Lynne Venner was 65 th in the women’s 55 to 59 race in 2:37:56.

In the shorter 8 km run, Ollie Blake was third overall out of 1,252 runners and third in the men’s 25 to 29 group with a time of 26:31.

Anna Sinclair was 714 th overall and 46 th in the women’s 40 to 44 category.
