The Meadow Park Sports Centre will close a number of its facilities for routine annual maintenance, beginning this month.
The pool will close Monday, Aug. 22 and reopen Monday, Sept. 19. Scheduled work includes replacing the hot tub filter; cleaning the hot tub, sauna and steam room and repainting the pool change room lockers.
The fitness studio is scheduled to close Monday, Sept. 5, while the fitness centre will shut down the following day. Both are set to reopen on Saturday, Sept. 17. Upgrades to both facilities include replacing the floor to the upstairs fitness office, stretching area, Sonya Dery room and boxing studio, as well as repainting the entire second floor and hallway towards the fitness studio.
Other areas of Meadow Park, including the arena and squash courts, will remain open. Regular fall programming will resume mid-September once the work is completed.
Resident registration for the municipality’s slate of fall and winter recreation programming is now open. Visit www.whistler.ca/culture-recreation/recreation for more information.
